Fruité Catalan is the ideal match for duck breast, grilled rib eye steak and lamb shanks. It also works well with vegetable gratins and a platter of cheese.
Soil
The wine is blended from grapes grown on several different types of soil: granite and schist on hillside sites as well as stony and schist alluvial deposits. Each vineyard is managed based on stringent specifications defining viticultural techniques (pruning, leaf area, yields, health monitoring) as well as the wine’s profile..
Grape varieties
50% Syrah, 20% Carignan, 30% Grenache noir.
Production method
The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and fermented separately. Carignan undergoes carbonic maceration whilst some of the Syrah and Grenache undergo pre-fermentation cold soaking for approximately 48 hours. The rest is fermented traditionally using classic maceration techniques including daily pump-overs. Syrah macerates for an average three weeks and Grenache approximately ten days.
Ageing
In tanks for a few months. The wines are bottled early to retain the fresh fruit aromas.
Description
Displaying a deep garnet hue tinged with crimson, the wine reveals a charming explosion of black fruits marked by redcurrant, blackberry and blackcurrant. The palate is delightful and lush with silky tannins, spice notes and a fresh finish.
Storing
Drink within the year to fully retain its intense aromas.
