Ideal as an aperitif served with tapas, Fruité Catalan holds the promise of savoury pairings with summer salads, ratatouille and tabouleh. It also comes into its own with grilled red mullet and barbecues.
Soil
The wine is blended from grapes grown on several different types of deep soil: granitic sand, stony and schist alluvial deposits and silt sand. Each vineyard is managed based on stringent specifications defining viticultural techniques (pruning, leaf area, yields, health monitoring) as well as the wine’s profile.
Grape varieties
60% Syrah, 40% Grenache noir.
Production method
The grapes are harvested early in the morning to fully retain freshness of aroma. Syrah and Grenache noir undergo a short maceration of no more than ten hours at 20°C. The resultant must undergoes very thorough cold settling and is then fermented at low temperatures with yeast that promotes fermentation aromas and varietal character.
Ageing
In tanks on fine lees then early bottling to retain the fruit aromas.
Description
Displaying a soft pink hue with peony highlights, the wine shows seductive fruit and floral perfumes. The palate is fresh and intense and exudes aromas of pomegranate, redcurrant and raspberry
Storing
A wine that should be drunk young to fully enjoy its aroma.
