Château Montner
AOP Côtes du Roussillon Villages
Château Montner is situated in the Agly valley, in the North of Roussillon where Grenache noir, Syrah and Carignan vines thrive on sunny hillside soils of schist.
Soil
The vineyards for this wine are located in the Agly Valley, near Latour de France. The vines are planted on rolling hills over east-west facing schist soils. Only the finest fruit is selected.
Grape varieties
40% Syrah, 40% Carignan, 20% Grenache noir.
Production method
The best vineyards are selected and picked by hand. Carignan undergoes carbonic maceration for approximatively three weeks. The Grenache and Syrah are destemmed, crushed and undergo traditional maceration for over four weeks.
Ageing
In tanks for several months before being bottled at the estate.
Description
